Abstract
The Ibero-American Multilateral Social Security Covenant, which came into force in Spain in 2011, can currently be considered a hot topic in social security law due to the
phenomenon of growing emigration to Spain by Latin American workers. This is reflected in a growing body of case law, created mainly in recent years. This is a judicial doctrine of utmost doctrinal interest, among other reasons, because it highlights that the Multilateral Ibero-
American Social Security Covenant has gaps or regulatory loopholes (and consequently, flaws) that our labor courts are forced to fill.
